A sequence of historical images of the "Body" with its better and significative representative team, introduces and moves up a performance from which are pulled a series of imagines that belong to the author and that are used for later installations. The photographic image, used before to document an extempore operation, it becomes protagonist and it takes the place of the event, changing it and bending it to its use, it becoming itself another work.

Autobiografica, 1996/1997 -the video-
Video S-VHS, Betacam', texts: F.Arena, music: liza Eliaz/Romper Stomper DJ, time: 17'
In this video, 50 personages show theirselves, they look us with a neutral expression, maybe they auto-represent them; behind them, are running images of the world: a kind of "blob", a close cutting (more than 1500 images on sequence) of various images: by films, by advertising, by personal archives. Over them, over their heads are flowing one another, a series of linked together sentences; the sentences are interpolated on different stills (459 files) and appearing on video like fragments of a thought that develops on progression. Everything is cut together. The video is a part of the homonymous installation.

Luoghi di tempo LDT1-LDT2-LDT3, 2001
VHS-DVD-Di8, Col., time: 60', 3 copies filmed in live
In this series of works (as the same in the photographic works), the time doesn't exist and the place is unknown, only the objects are recognizable: they are our fetishes, our goods, they characterize ourselves and specify us, like a game of continuous recalls to our private life, our relations, our feelings and our sensations.
The vision is rarefied and extremely built, it's blocked and there isn't storyboard. The objects reproduced are trending to dissipate a figurative characters, they move in a mental abstraction to which they try to give "discipline" through a sensorial "training" aimed to user's imaginary and imagination. It is represented a live sequences from typically photographic set, we can define them like a "still life movie".

Stereo mono compatibile Di8-DVD-VHS- colore
approx running time 60/180’ in originale, riprese live in copia unica
Respiri:
In the video “Respiri”, one of the series of my new video production ”Luoghi di tempo”, some female mouths filmed in fixed close-up, are breathing on a glass.
The framing is symmetrical, the face, which is lit up with a red light, fills the half of the screen and she ‘s opposed against a chromatic yellow background.
The girls lean their mouths and their faces so much that ,progressively ,they are get deformed in contact with the transparent surface and in their performance
they denounce much more than a physiologic need : it’ emerging insecurities, needs ,secret emotiveness.
The shot is performed in live, without sound track; it seems that the face’s fragments under go a “ stop”, almost how if they are moving in “apnea” ,into a space
deprived of its physical connotations, into an abstract situation.
The lips try, sometimes, to go beyond that transparent space that control they but, obviously, they can’t, so they distort themselves.
The breathe becomes an instrument to measure an emotion and it help the disclosing, the complicity with the camera that is the only to record non-stop this
process like a mirror and an interlocutor of the “self”.

CIRCULAR BODIES, © 2004
DVD-Di8, Col., time:45'
30 copies numbered and signed.
Sound: william basinski: Disintegration Loop II (dlp3- 2062 musex
International)
Circular bodies is a video that synthesizes and completes my last visual research. With the background of the repetitive, broken up and minimal notes by William Basinski, a body touch itself, it’s an anonymous body, almost asexual, then we discover it’s composed by several male and female subjects edited in post-production ,but it’s unimportant.
The camera follows the gesture and suggests journeys, movements, emotional ranges. Male and female mix, elements of a system melt to elements of another system making, not a new trans-cyber entity (besides it’s so abused), but a new form that it isn’t going in search of an identity, but simply including a “summa” of feelings, a confluence into a “circular body”.
From this work it have been made an installation with 400 frames taken from the video, they have been set in aluminium, plastic-coated (size 10x14 each) and used as dressing in the William Basinski’s concert happened the 12 February 2004 at the Museum of Contemporary Art “Villa Croce” in
Genoa.
From every video of the series are extract 50 frames printed in labda on photographic paper in only copy in format 30x45
